Efficient Risk Management in Leasing Companies

After a decrease of 9.1 % in the leasing market in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the year 2008, in the previous year, 2009, the data was even more unfavourable. As a result of the recession, leasing markets recorded a further decrease of more then 60 %, until the number of signed contracts for the same period decreased by 40 %.
The decrease indicated follows European trends in this area. So in the first half of the year 2009, the leasing market in Europe recorded a decrease of 35.8 % compared with the same period in 2008. The biggest decrease occurred in the countries in which the recession had the most significant effect, i.e. in the countries in which the leasing market has, in previous years, recorded a significant increase. In the period outlined, the most significant decrease has been recorded in the leasing market of Lithuania (81.33 %), Ukraine (77.15 %), Russia (73.13 %), and Estonia (69.24 %). The smallest decrease (around 16 %) has been recorded by leasing markets in Sweden and Holland.
